    Jungle Maya Expedition

    April 15, 2014 / No Comments

(Updated June 2020)I was in Mexico for less than a day and Contiki was already pulling out the big guns. Not only was I staying at an all inclusive resort, Now Jade, over looking the ocean; Claire, the Contiki rep, and I got to spend the entire day at Jungle Maya Expedition, a Mayan adventure park just outside Cancun. Jungle Maya Cancun This excursion, Jungle Maya Expedition, is one of the “Me Time” optional excursions on both Contiki’s Mexican Grande and Yucatan Highlights tours.Technically, I knew about this excursion before my departure, but I didn’t do any additional research. I liked the unknowingness about this entire trip. The initial packet from Contiki mentioned…

I Made it to Cancun, Mexico

    April 2, 2014 / No Comments

After a long night of last minute packing, I woke up at 3:15 A.M. to begin the official start of #NoRegrets Contest win adventure in Cancun, Mexico. My flight was scheduled for departure at 7:10 AM. I had prescheduled a shuttle pick up at 4:15 AM which gave me plenty of time to arrive at the airport, check-in and make it thought security. After successfully passing through security, I went straight to a local coffee shop that has almond milk as an option. My airport arrival time was prefect, which meant I didn’t have too much time to spend aimlessly in the terminal. So, I grabbed a coffee, some breakfast,…

    Becoming a Scuba Diver

    March 28, 2014 / No Comments

I cannot believe my Mexican Adventure #NOREGRETS Fulfillment Day Trip is less than 5 days away. I feel like all I’ve been doing the last 6 weeks has been to prepare for this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Including preparations that required by me to become a PADI certified open water scuba diver. I won this contest because of a twitter post. I pretty bluntly tweeted that I was terrified of the ocean and I would face my fear head-on. Basically, there was no way around becoming a PADI certified scuba diver without getting into the ocean. Pre-Dive Preparation I took my open-water certification course from a local dive shop called Seattle Scuba…

I Won a Trip off Twitter

    January 30, 2014 / No Comments

It was December 2013. I was sitting in the office with a few co-workers when I received a shoutout on Twitter from Contiki Holidays. I was quite perplexed about why they would have shouted me out like that. What evolved from that tweet from Contiki was something I was not expecting. Contiki Travels Five years ago, I went on my first Contiki tour throughout the United Kingdom. I was just finishing up my experience studying abroad when I decided I wanted to travel around the UK. I had heard about these group tours throughout Europe and thought they sounded fun! What is Contiki? Contiki is a travel company, specializing in tours…
